Simulation-ready, low-poly external model of the Buk-M1 TELAR self-propelled, medium-range surface-to-air missile system (SAM) - NATO reporting name SA-11 "Gadfly".
-----------------------
The standard Buk battalion consists of a command vehicle, target acquisition radar (TAR) vehicle, six transporter erector launcher and radar (TELAR) vehicles, and three transporter erector launcher (TEL) vehicles. The Buk missile battery under this command structure consists of two TELAR and one TEL vehicle.
The command vehicle coordinates the Buk battalion, the TAR acquires target aircraft at long-range, then the TELAR (shown here) acquires these targets at medium range and fires upon them with the 9M38M1 missile. The TEL is essentially an ammunition carrier that reloads the TELAR, but it is also capable of firing using the TELAR's seekers for guidance.
